If you use digital devices like computers, smartphones, or tablets, either at work or home, you may have experienced uncomfortable digital eye strain symptoms.
These can include headaches, blurred vision, dry eyes, or neck pain and are often caused by spending more than 2 hours at a time looking at a digital screen.
Looking at a digital screen makes your eyes work harder. Poor lighting, glare on screens, poor posture, uncorrected vision problems, or a combination can also increase the symptoms of digital eye strain.
Generally, digital eye strain occurs mostly because the visual demands exceed the visual abilities of the individual.
Digital devices can also cause eye strain because of their glare, or when there’s poor contrast between the words on the screen and the background. Improper distance from the screen and poor lighting can also lead to eye strain.
